EDCAR & the digital.auto Story

What happens when you take a car from 1960 and turn it into a hands-on platform for modern software-defined vehicle development?
At the EDCAR press event in Abstatt, FSTI shared the story behind the EDucation CAR and digital.auto. Developed by the Ferdinand-Steinbeis-Institut together with Bosch Engineering GmbH and supported by Audi Akademie Neckarsulm, EDCAR transforms a bright-red NSU Prinz into a practical environment for experimenting with modern vehicle software, sensors and digital experiences.
The idea reflects the approach behind digital.auto: instead of spending years discussing interfaces and standards in theory, bring them into an executable environment, test them and learn together.
